This year Living has added an extra dimension. In addition to a four day exhibition about everything for building, reconstructing and furnishing your home, Living now includes a conference.

The subjects of the conference are related to the subjects of the exhibition: Living. The two themes which will be discussed are hot topics: the balance between tourism and the environment and the balance between old and new buildings. How can we develop tourism without damaging the environment? Should architects continue building in the old style or are they allowed to think about modern styles? How do the new buildings match with the existing typical Curacao buildings?

These, as well as other questions will be discussed by Hans Fonk, the guest speaker of the Living Conference. Hans Fonk is the chief editor and publisher of the world famous OBJEKT International Magazine, a magazine about architecture and interior. One of the local speakers will be Ghatim Kabbara, the new director of the CTB, who will give his perception about the balance between tourism and the environment.

The Living Conference is sponsored by Orco Bank and will take place on Friday August 19^th, at 2:30PM in the auditorium of the WTC. Afterwards, at 6PM, visitors are invited to the happy hour and a visit to the Living expo.
